En: The stalactites and stalagmites glistened in the glow of artificial light.
Sl: Poti so bile ozke, zrak pa hladen in vlažen.
En: The paths were narrow, and the air was cold and damp.
En: It all seemed like a fairy tale told by nature itself.
Sl: Matej in Maruša sta stala pred vhodom.
En: Matej and Maruša stood at the entrance.
En: Maruša enthusiastically pointed at the walls, explaining the cave's history and the animals that inhabit it.
Sl: Matej je bil tiho.
En: Matej was silent.
En: His wish was to impress her.
Sl: Globoko v sebi je skrival tesnobo.
En: Deep inside, he hid his anxiety.
En: He liked Maruša, but he didn't want to show his uncertainty.
Sl: Stopala sta po osvetljeni poti.
En: They walked along the lit path.

En: He proudly listened to everything Maruša told him.
En: They discussed the proteus, the mighty hall where an echo could be heard for a full five seconds.
En: Suddenly, he felt an itch in his nose.
En: At first, he thought it was just dust.
Sl: Potem pa je začelo postajati resno.
En: But then it started to become serious.
Sl: Njegovo dihanje je bilo težje.
En: His breathing became heavier.
En: Matej knew it was an allergic reaction, but he wanted to stay calm.
En: He was worried about how Maruša would react if she found out he was awkwardly sensitive.
Sl: Poti so postale daljše in dihanje vse glasnejše.
En: The paths became longer, and his breathing grew louder.
Sl: Poskušal je misliti na druge stvari, vendar so simptomi resno postajali očitni.
En: He tried to think about other things, but the symptoms were seriously becoming apparent.
Sl: Matej je začel kihati.
En: Matej began to sneeze.
Sl: Njegov obraz je bil rdeč in oči so mu solzile.
En: His face was red, and his eyes were watering.
Sl: Končno je moral priznati poraz.
En: Finally, he had to admit defeat.
En: They stepped to the side, where Matej could sit.
Sl: "Oprosti," je izustil s hripavim glasom.
En: "Sorry," he uttered hoarsely.
Sl: "Ne morem več skrivati.
En: "I can't hide it anymore.
Sl: Alergija.
En: Allergy."
Sl: "Maruša ga je pogledala z razumevanjem.
En: Maruša looked at him with understanding.
Sl: "Sem ti lahko kako pomagam?
En: "Is there anything I can do to help?"
Sl: " je vprašala skrbno.
En: she asked, concerned.
En: Without hesitation, she pulled tissues and a bottle of water from her bag.
En: She thought of everything that might help him.
Sl: Skupaj sta čepela ob steni v jami.
En: They crouched together against the wall in the cave.
En: Matej rested while Maruša made sure he felt better.
Sl: Njena skrb in toplina sta ga presenetili.
En: Her care and warmth surprised him.
Sl: "Hvala," je bil hvaležen.
En: "Thank you," he said gratefully.
Sl: "Res me je skrbelo, kako boš reagirala.
En: "I was really worried about how you'd react."
Sl: "Maruša se je nasmehnila.
En: Maruša smiled.
Sl: "Vsak ima svoje težave," je rekla.
En: "Everyone has their own problems," she said.
Sl: "Pomembno je, da se znamo podpirati.
En: "It's important that we know how to support each other."
En: He learned that weakness was not something to be ashamed of.
En: In the end, vulnerability brought him and Maruša even closer.
Sl: Nadaljevala sta pot skozi jamo, zdaj že kot resnična prijatelja, ki jih povezuje več kot le obisk tmine pod zemljo.
En: They continued their journey through the cave, now as true friends, connected by more than just a visit to the depths beneath the earth.
