Stop Punishing Yourself

MICHELLE KENNEY, M. ED
About this episode

I recently had a heart-to-heart conversation with a parent who was struggling with some very normal parenting challenges. However, she was too harsh on herself and kept blaming herself for the mistakes she made. It's common to feel guilty and ashamed when we make mistakes as parents, but today I want to help you break free from this cycle of self-shaming and focus on growth and self-compassion.

We need to challenge the notion that perfection is the only way to be a good parent. In this episode, we'll discuss how normalizing mistakes, avoiding punishments, and embracing a gentler approach to parenting can create a more nurturing environment for our children. If you're struggling with self-blame, I believe this episode will encourage and empower you.
