Runaway Husbands and Wife Abandonment Sy...

SHERRY GABA AND CARLA ROMO
About this episode

Sherry and Carla kick off the show with a Love Fix question from a recent divorcee who is looking for tips around dating, especially when they aren’t sure if they ever want to get married again. This leads to a conversation about how important it is to work on your issues before you enter the dating game. They then welcome internationally known psychotherapist, speaker, author and divorce recovery expert, Vikki Stark. Vikki is the director of the Sedona Counseling Center of Montreal and is known for her groundbreaking book, Runaway Husbands, which has led her to mentor a worldwide community of women recovering from unexpected divorce.

What You’ll Hear In This Episode:

  • What is a “runaway husband” and “wife abandonment syndrome”?

  • Vikki’s story of her husband abruptly ending their marriage, the soft signs that were there, and how she learned to trust again.

  • How women can use shame and grief into a catapult for living a great life and learning to be resilient.

  • Why are runaway husbands so cold and distant all of a sudden, when they were loving what seemed like just a moment before?

  • Are runaway husbands also narcissistic or is there a personality disorder occurring?

  • The worldwide community that Vikki is creating out of wonderful women that have experienced wife abandonment syndrome.

  • Many of the runaway husbands tend to be covert narcissists, and the wives tend to be self sacrificers and codependents.
