Suzanne Andora Barron wear many hats. She’s president and founder of a foundation, The Christopher Barron Live Life Foundation, she started in honor of her little boy, Christopher, who passed at the age of 9 from leukemia. The Foundation offers comic creation workshops to underserved kids. To date, her foundation has helped more 1200 children discover the power of their imagination. Suzanne’s also a yoga instructor, a meditation coach and a certified Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner. She’s been teaching yoga, meditation and breathwork for 12 years and Jin Shin Jyutsu, an ancient Japanese healing modality, for eight. These practices helped Suzanne in the dark years following her son’s death. Suzanne is an adjunct professor of Yoga at Bergen Community College in Northern NJ where she teaches high school and college students Yoga for Stress Management. She is finishing up a memoir called Finding Joy in the Midst of Hard and recently launched a podcast called Finding Joy in the Hard, where she interviews people who’ve undergone incredible challenges and have come out the other side. Every episode includes a healing tip.
Suzanne and I talk about her journey through grief after the loss of her son and how she was able to find meaning again in her life, see the gifts she was given along the way and help others to heal.
