Daniel & The Abuse Cycle Dad | Domestic ...

Abuse Survivor Network
About this episode

In this episode of Narcissist Apocalypse, Daniel shares his story of going no contact with his physically abusive father, his mother, and his sisters. After 35 years, Daniel realized that his upbringing wasn't normal and was brave enough to question his dad. The response by Daniel's dad was to minimize his experience, which put Daniel into a psych ward as he couldn't process the reality he was confronting. This conversation takes place eight weeks after that conversation.

It's a story of being good enough, gaslighting, obedience, physical abuse, no contact, the truth, minimization, abuse cycles, guilt, anxiety, perfectionism, people pleasing, cptsd, lies, and survival.

*** CONTENT WARNING - We discuss child and adult physical abuse in this episode. ***
