1013: [PARENTING] "Entering the Teen Yea...

Hosted by Heather Chauvin | Insights inspired by Mel Robbins, Bréne Brown,
About this episode

"Parenthood…It's about guiding the next generation, and forgiving the last." - Peter Krause

In this episode, I talk about:

  • Observing what a child's motivation stems from, what is their "currency" (their wants and desires), and leveraging these to create connection

  • Discussing the grieving and inner work that we as parents need to do as our child grows
  • Remembering to ask yourself - are you the adult you needed at your child's age?

  • Being able to direct your attention to your child's positive capabilities and traits, instead of trying to "fix" or focusing on what's "wrong" with your child
