760: The Key to Anti-Aging & Wellness: G...

Kay Durairaj, MD, FACS @beautybydrkay
About this episode
When it comes to protecting your body from aging and stress, glutathione deserves the spotlight; in today's Five Minute Friday- we breakdown exactly why we love glutathione! This antioxidant is produced naturally from amino acids and acts as your internal shield against free radicals and toxins. It doesn’t just fight oxidative stress—it also helps recycle other antioxidants, keeping your defense system running smoothly.

Levels of glutathione drop with age, stress, and illness, which is why it’s smart to support production every day. You can do this with simple changes: load up on cruciferous vegetables, add garlic and onions to your meals, get enough vitamin C and selenium, and try whey protein for its cysteine content. Even herbs like milk thistle play a role in keeping glutathione levels steady.

Think of it as strengthening your body’s reset button. When glutathione is optimized, your energy improves, your skin looks healthier, and your cells are better protected against damage. Making these small, consistent choices helps your body stay resilient, youthful, and strong.
