#743: A live Amazon Q/A with our Faceboo...

Jim Cockrum
About this episode

Once per week or so our Amazon seller leadership team and I love to go live on Zoom with whoever can join us and answer as many ecommerce and Amazon selling related questions as possible. We love to capture the best moments from these Monday night sessions for you and turn them into a podcast episode.

Highlights added by the podcast team:

Jim gives an overview of who he is and how he has supported his family with e-commerce for over 20 years!  Also, mark your calendars for The Proven Conference - May 23-25, 2024! (https://theprovenconference.com/orlando/ for more info)

Jim discusses how Amazon will list items for sale even before they have them in stock once they trust their sellers. Jim recommends new sellers listen to Podcast #554 which talks about pricing above the buy box Jim and Robin Joy discuss the Kick Start Bootcamp, which is a course for new Proven Amazon Course students to jump start their business! $39 gets you 4 group coaching sessions to get your business up and running!

Also, it’s normal for newer sellers to go through a “slump” when they are working hard to grow their business! It’s important to identify what is causing the slump

This segment discusses Replen Dashboard as the recommended program to help sellers keep track of their inventory. Repricers are mentioned and how at the core of the Replen model, it really is quite simple if new sellers follow the My SIlent Team teachings!

A new coaching student inquires about sending products to FBA (sourced via OA) as they come in or wait until they’ve all arrived? Jim also warns sellers NOT to sell against Generic ASINs or ASINs that have the brand misspelled, etc.

Jim says if anything looks “weird” in a listing (the brand for example), then do further research. Also, be careful where you source products and make sure distributors are legitimate. Jim also discusses IP complaints and the mindset to approach those with

Jim discusses some different tools and identifies the ones that are necessary for a new seller and one that can wait to get! Jim also discusses some considerations for selling products on Amazon vs. eBay ( Jim discusses high pricing errors as well as listings that don’t have a buy box
