SLP 297: Self Love Quicky – Essential Oi...

THE WELLNESS COUCH
About this episode

I received a question this week about which essential oils would be good to help with hormones and recovery from a hysterectomy. Whilst they are separate issues, there are crossovers so here are some essential oils and blends that are commonly suggested for hormonal support. You can use them in a bath, diffuser, aroma mist and body boost massage ritual for amazing results.

Clary Sage: Often recommended for its potential to balance estrogen levels and relieve symptoms associated with hormonal imbalances, such as menstrual cramps and hot flashes.

Lavender: Known for its calming properties, lavender essential oil may help reduce stress and promote better sleep, which can indirectly support hormone balance.

Geranium: This oil is believed to help balance hormones, particularly in women. It may assist with menstrual irregularities and menopausal symptoms.

Fennel: Often used to address menstrual problems, fennel essential oil may help regulate the menstrual cycle and alleviate symptoms like bloating and cramping.

Ylang Ylang: With its soothing aroma, ylang ylang essential oil may help reduce stress and promote relaxation, potentially supporting hormonal balance.

Thyme: Known for its potential to support progesterone production, thyme essential oil may be beneficial for women experiencing hormonal imbalances.

Peppermint: It is often used for relieving symptoms of hormonal imbalances such as headaches, bloating, and digestive issues.

Roman Chamomile: Known for its calming properties, Roman chamomile essential oil may help reduce stress and anxiety, potentially benefiting hormonal balance.

If you would prefer a blend already made up for you I would suggest two incredible blends for hormone balance and recovery from a hysterectomy.

Balance & Harmony which is made up of lavender, lemon, geranium, clary sage, rose and neroli is an exquisite blend to help promote stability, mental clarity and to support the emotional rollercoaster we sometimes feel we are on. A drop on your perfume points or a 10 drops into 5 mls of carrier oil massaged over the abdomen can do wonders. Add some magnesium to this and you may find cramping and pains subside rather quickly.

The other blend is Romance & Intimacy which is made up of rosewood, orange, patchouli, ylang ylang, sandalwood and rose oil. Notice rose in both blends this is your secret weapon when it comes to hormone integrity.
