About this episode

54% of people in the Arab world are at risk for developing an eating disorder. To help us make sense of this astounding statistic, we invited Dr. Melissa Rizk on the podcast. Dr. Melissa is a nutritionist and holistic health coach with a PhD in Cognitive Neurosciences specialised in eating disorders. Dr. Melissa explains to us what exactly is an eating disorder, what can cause them and how people can start developing healthy relationships to food and to their bodies. Through the sharing of personal stories, all three of us have an honest and emotional conversation about eating disorder with Rhea sharing her own personal story with binge eating.

If you want to learn more about this topic make sure to follow Dr. Melissa on her instagram @drmelissarizk, or if you are seeking help with an eating disorder check out Dr Melissa’s website: drmelissarizk.com.
