This week on The Healing & Human Potential Podcast, I'm sharing one of the most profound experiences of my life, my ibogaine experience. It's a plant medicine with roots in West African ceremony, and researchers are now studying what it can do for trauma, depression, and PTSD.
I did three fractional doses over one week at a medical clinic in Cancun, each one carrying a completely different intention and opening up a completely different world. I share what came up in each journey: meeting the two parts of my personality I've come to call my Optimizer and my Playful self, learning how fear actually wants to be met instead of healed, and realizing how much I'd been overriding my own body without knowing it. The medicine seemed to mirror whatever I brought into it, and what it gave back was heart-opening and deeply clarifying; more than anything, it reminded me how much wisdom is already inside us, waiting to be heard.
