Difficult Conversations : How to Handle ...

TAMERA RASMUSSEN
About this episode

This week's episode is a little bit different and unexpected. Navigating the world our kids live in can be challenging, curveballs lurk around every corner. I wanted to share a recent parenting experience that highlights just what our kids are up against. It can be difficult to sort through our fears and values to confront issues our kids face in a healthy way. We have a choice, we can lean into discomfort and equip our kids to manage it or we can put our heads in the sand and do everything we can to limit exposure.

There are certainly times when we need to protect our kids but sometimes we can prevent them from developing the skills and accountability they will need to make good decisions when we aren't there to guide them. There is no question, this world places kids and parents in uncomfortable situations every day, I am hopeful that sharing my experience will equip you to make balanced decisions when it comes to unexpected sexual situations with your kids. Next week....dating!

If you are listening please consider dropping me a message and letting me know, I would love to hear from you!
