How Can We Help Our Kids Through Difficu...

MICHELLE KENNEY, M. ED
About this episode

Sometimes when our child is having a hard time of course we want to fix things, help

them see the bright side. But things might look arduous and difficult for our children and leaning into those upsets with empathy can help them feel seen, heard and understood. This way they are able to let go with more ease.

In this episode a lovely mom Jenna asks how to navigate negativity. We discuss leaning into the icky feelings, validate them and come with empathy to honor discomfort. It’s not easy seeing our children upset but with our love they can make it through.

Episode Highlights:

  • How to respond to our kids when they are negative
  • Using empathy to heal discomfort
  • Letting them win
  • Allowing them to make mistakes

How can we “shame proof” our parenting?

There are ways we can eradicate shame from our everyday interactions with our children. Building in ways to address our children can promote resilience and self-esteem rather than jeopardizing these precious commodities for our children. Nobody wants to shame, but sometimes we need a little help figuring out what else we can do. Click here to download the FREE guide now - https://www.peaceandparentingla.com/shame-opt-in
