I'm sure you've heard this at least a few times in your life, and for good reason. Dressing yourself like an expert in your field does a few things for you. People naturally defer to authority, and sometimes that means looking the part. Dressing like an expert causes those around you to see you as an expert. They're more willing to listen, more trusting and genuine. However, it also changes how you view yourself. This isn't stealing valor or anything like that. It's creating a level of professionalism that the world can expect from you.
