In this episode Craig is joined by Cesar Roldan Jr, the head athletic trainer for the LA Galaxy Soccer Team. Cesar is a SoCal native and comes from a family with deep roots in soccer. Cesar is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the training room, acute management of sport related injuries, and communicating with sports science and performance staff on managing players throughout the season. Topics from this discussion include how the LA Galaxy team as a whole is currently dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, predictions for how things will be if and when the season returns, the interesting dynamics of the Roldan family as Cesar's two brothers both play in the MLS on the same team, what its like treating pro soccer players, the most common things Cesar deals with from an injury standpoint season to season, and ultimately what it takes for play, perform, and win at the highest level.

A native of Los Angeles, CA, Cesar Roldan Jr is the head athletic trainer for the LA Galaxy Soccer Team. He served two years as the assistant athletic trainer for the LA Galaxy prior. He joined the LA Galaxy after serving as the head athletic trainer for the Colorado Rapids. He has previous experience working as the head athletic trainer for Orange County Blues Soccer Club and previous internships with Chivas USA, Seattle Sounders, and Los Angeles Galaxy. He received his undergraduate Kinesiology Degree from California State University, Long Beach and Master of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Science from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.
