I'm introducing you to Rebecca Bequer, a pediatric speech-language pathologist and the founder of Free 2 Be Me Therapy, a private practice serving children and families throughout South Florida. Rebecca specializes in language disorders, autism, social communication, articulation, and AAC, providing services in homes, schools, and through teletherapy.
When she first became an SLP, she never imagined she would own her own practice, let alone be hiring clinicians like she is today. But after building a successful mobile private practice from the ground up, Rebecca expanded beyond traditional direct therapy services by securing school-based contracts and growing a team of clinicians. She is passionate about helping children find their voice while creating innovative service delivery models that increase access to quality speech and language services.
Since launching her private practice in 2022, Rebecca has stayed true to her core philosophy: child-led therapy. She believes the most meaningful communication happens when you follow a child's interests, and she built her entire practice around making that approach the standard, not the exception. Her mission has since grown to include supporting other SLPs through mentorship and school-based support, proving that when you build with authenticity, the possibilities are endless.
Today, Rebecca is not only treating families across Miami but also leading a growing team of two SLPs and one SLPA. She's transitioning from clinician to CEO while maintaining the flexibility she needs to be present for her young son.
Outside of being an SLP and business owner, Rebecca's favorite role is being a mom. Her mission, both professionally and personally, is to create spaces whether in homes, schools, or through teletherapy where children and clinicians alike feel free to be exactly who they are.
Rebecca is living proof that you don't need a perfect plan, a crystal-clear vision, or endless confidence to start. She didn't wait for everything to align, she just started, one client at a time, one step at a time. And that was enough to build something extraordinary.
