Ep 170 - Not Perfect—Devoted: The Voice ...

Miranda Mitchell I Human Design, Gene Keys & Embodied Leadership Guide
About this episode

Welcome back to the Provoking Prosperity podcast! In this episode, host Miranda Mitchell sits down with Foster Wilson—poet, author, postpartum doula, and soulful storyteller whose life and work beautifully exemplify authentic service and self-expression. Together, they dive deep into the intertwining worlds of creativity and caregiving, exploring how Foster’s journey through independent film, poetry, and supporting new parents has always been rooted in connection, presence, and fierce compassion.

Foster opens up about her transformative experiences with motherhood, grief, and the ongoing process of letting go of perfectionism—a journey illuminated by her Human Design as a 2/4 Generator on the Right Angle Cross of Service. She shares her approach to writing as sanctuary and mirror, the power of creative expression even in moments of survival, and the importance of trusting one’s inner wisdom amidst society’s clamor for external validation.

This episode is a heartfelt invitation to anyone in transition, caretakers who are creators, and all those wondering if their voice matters. Let Foster’s story remind you: your presence is service, your voice is medicine, and the truest gift you can offer the world is the real, imperfect, luminous expression of who you are.

Meet Foster Wilson Poet, author, and postpartum doula, Foster Wilson weaves creativity and care into every facet of her work. Her debut poetry collection, Afternoon Abundance: Poetry for Wild Souls, explores motherhood, identity, and transformation. With a background in award-winning independent film and a heart for service, Foster brings soulful presence and advocacy to the creative and healing spaces she holds. A mother of two and contributor to The Drill Magazine, she’s devoted to storytelling as a path to connection, truth, and authentic voice.
