How to Build a Therapy Practice Worth $2...

Kelly McKenna, Therapist & Business Coach
About this episode

Amanda Buduris is a trauma therapist in the Pacific Northwest. She owns a successful private practice, and specializes in offering therapy intensives. Amanda serves individuals and couples who have complex trauma, and need support navigating the healing process. She’s also a business coach who helps therapists add therapy intensives to their own practices.

Amanda has been a long time coaching client of mine and has built a very successful therapy practice. She was initially charging $125/session for 1-1 clients. Now, she charges $350/hour for weekly clients, and $400-500 for intensives (which we’re digging more into here). She’s been able to achieve $15k months from therapy alone, working an average of 15 hours/week. Pretty freaking awesome!!

If you’re ready to build your therapy practice in a way that allows you to charge a premium rate and create a client-centered experience, this episode is for you!

In this episode, we cover:

  • How Amanda has upleveled her skills + created a high-quality experience for her clients
  • How Amanda and I both use Jane software in our private practices
  • Therapy intensives vs. traditional, ongoing 1-1 therapy
  • Positioning yourself as the expert and charging a premium rate
  • Creating boundaries in your business while still being very client-centered
  • Structuring intensives so you can be present and focused, instead of completely drained
  • Why branding and marketing are crucial pieces in connecting with your ideal client
  • Why people care more about how you can help them vs. your degrees or background
  • How Amanda books clients for intensives vs. weekly sessions
