What is the current foundation of your relationship? If you want to have a great relationship that works, you have to have the 5 elements of intimacy, discovered by Gary M. Douglas.
They are:
- Honor: It is how you treat you and others with regard.
- Vulnerability: it is never seen as a strength, but it’s a key and a tool for a flourishing relationship. You have no walls or barriers and you’re like an open wound.
- Allowance: It is letting things be as they are without any judgement.
- Gratitude: It’s the place where you are being grateful for you and others.
- Trust: It's knowing what the other person will do, not concluding what they will do.
These elements are all interconnected and you can’t have them with anyone else if you don’t have them with you.
