The fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has held for its first day. Three Israeli hostages have been freed and 90 Palestinian prisoners and detainees released. 

The bodies of four Israeli hostages who were killed while held in captivity by the militant group Hamas, have been returned from Gaza.

The Israel Defence Forces said that three hostages released by Hamas had arrived in Israel. 

Israel and Hamas reached an agreement securing the release of an Israeli hostage held in Gaza and allowing the return of Palestinians to the north of the strip. 

The Gaza ceasefire deal looks to be going ahead after the Israeli Prime Minister confirmed an agreement has been reached with Hamas.
