Dans Job 3, après une période de silence, Job ouvre enfin la bouche et exprime son désespoir en maudissant le jour de sa naissance. Il se demande pourquoi il est né pour souffrir et pourquoi Dieu lui a donné la vie s’il devait endurer tant de douleur. Job lutte avec son incapacité à comprendre la raison de sa souffrance, remettant en question la justice divine. Ce chapitre marque le début de son dialogue avec ses amis et l'expression de son profond malaise.
