759: Green Funerals, Free Will, & the Po...

Susie Meister & Sarah Rice - Wave Podcast Network
About this episode

It's almost Sarah's favorite day of the year, and this episode will fit into the spooky theme. We learn about a funeral home that was really phoning it in with regards to disposal of the bodies, and despite their environmentally friendly mission, they ended up causing more mess. We learn about the inventor of the modern day bulletproof vest, who shot himself hundreds of times to test his own product. We hear about the burglary that inspired his invention and we discuss how inventors often are a little too invested (no pun intended) with their products, and how his passion probably backfired (pun intended), and possibly caused people to die. We hear the most shocking part of the Britney documentary that caused her world to "shatter," and it's kind of amazing. Susie shares why one esteemed scholar believes human beings have NO free will and everything is predetermined, and why other scholars are disturbed by his claims. We discuss the idea of "olfactory illusions," and learn why one researcher says they are not possible. Plus, we hear the history of lipstick, why it's the most "deadly" cosmetic, and how men are scared of its powers.
