SLP 215: Our Beliefs Are Created From Re...

THE WELLNESS COUCH
About this episode

‘And I think one of the reasons we don’t listen and act on those taps, and the whisper that turns into a roar, is because so many people very, very sadly have a belief that they are not worth taking care of. So, our beliefs are created from repetitive thoughts and if you’ve thought over and over again that you are not worth taking care of, or some version of that, you will literally believe it. And there’s a part of our brain called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) that just goes looking for evidence of what we believe is true, so it’s usually unconscious but we usually find evidence that we’re not worth taking care of, we find evidence of that everywhere if that’s a belief we have.”

I am absolutely delighted and excited to share with you one of my most favourite humans. Dr Libby Weaver is quite literally the whole package. She exudes beauty inside and out, and embodies everything she teaches around health and wellness. This incredible interview covers Libby’s story, what inspired her to study bio chemistry and how she absolutely loves to support people to live their best, healthiest and most authentic lives.

About Dr Libby:

“My mission is to educate and inspire, enhancing people’s health and happiness, igniting a ripple effect that transforms the world.”

Nutritional biochemist, Dr Libby Weaver (PhD), is a thirteen-times bestselling author, speaker and founder of the food-based supplement range, Bio Blends.

Armed with an abundance of knowledge, scientific research and a true desire to help people regain their energy and vitality, Dr Libby empowers and inspires people to take charge of their health and happiness through her books, live events and online courses.

A respected international speaker, Dr Libby’s expertise in nutritional biochemistry has led her to share the stage with Marianne Williamson, Sir Richard Branson, and Tony Robbins, as well as many female thought-leaders. She is regularly called upon by television and radio as an authoritative figure in the health and wellness industry.

With a natural ability to break even the most complex of concepts into layman’s terms, Dr Libby’s health messages embrace her unique three-pillared approach that explore the interplay between nutrition, emotions and the biochemistry of the body.

It’s no surprise that when it comes to achieving and maintaining ultimate health and wellbeing, Hollywood stars, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness, describe her as a “one stop shop in achieving and maintaining ultimate health and wellbeing.

Her definition of Self Love is to be who you really are, to be your authentic self and to do whatever it is that allows you to do that. It is a profound privilege to experience this in nature which helps us to become who we truly are.

Her favourite quote is:

If you knew who you truly are you would be in awe of yourself. Let yourself have what you already have. Joy is an irreplaceable depth of energy.

Quotes:
I had a passion for writing thanks to my beautiful mumma
I have a curious brain and a deep desire to learn
Why do we do what we do even when we know better
Better to ask yourself, I wonder what lead me to do that
It doesn’t have to be complicated
There are always drawbacks and benefits of all decisions
Small amounts of preservatives are enough to negatively affect our gut microbiome
One cannot operate without the other
The whisper that turns into a roar
Beliefs are created from repetitive thoughts
We create meanings of who we must be depending on the responses we get from others
The body and our psychology will work to get us back to homeostasis
A belief in deficiency gets created but it’s not conscious
Humans have beautiful hearts
It is important to be our authentic selves
Be open to the possibility it is the opposite to what we are thinking
I do my best to be responsible for my feelings
We teach what we need to learn
How do I need other people to see me?
There is no right or wrong
Cultivate flexibility and how we handle other people seeing us
Most thoughts we think are actually not true
I do my best to not go to bed without insights
We are not that patient with our minds
We have two thought systems the old brain and new brain
If you knew who you truly are you would be in awe
Let yourself have what you already have
Joy is an irreplaceable depth of energy
