About this episode
Tamara Walker, RN, aka MomRN, and her expert guests share practical advice, information and support for raising a happy, healthy family.

This week we are discussing ways to stay healthy this holiday season, gift ideas for everyone on your list, and important information about two serious health conditions.

The holidays can take their toll on even the healthiest person. From busy schedules to bad weather, there’s a lot that can bring us down this season. But with a few steps, it is easy to stay ahead of the challenges to come. Terra Wellington, Editor-in-Chief of SimpleMomsGuide.com, returns to the Ask MomRN Show to share some simple steps to prevent the holiday humbugs.

Gift giving creates a unique bond between people when done right. But, let's face it, it’s getting harder and harder to find amazing gifts for the people on your list. Our next guest, Dana Holmes, has the secret that some people are calling the “Netflix of gifting”. And it just might bring some magic back to gift-giving so you can have more time to enjoy the magic of the holidays yourself.

Lung cancer is the number 1 cancer killer in the world but did you know that it’s not just a smoker’s disease? In fact, environmental factors like air pollution and exposure to carcinogens can also cause this disease. Early detection is key! Here to talk about a new development that is helping doctors use less invasive methods for detecting the disease is lung cancer survivor Bonnie Addario, Founder of the Bonnie Addario Lung Cancer Foundation.

Gaucher Disease is an inherited, rare, serious and oftentimes difficult-to-diagnose disorder that impacts approximately 10,000 people worldwide. Dr. Can Ficicioglu, MD, PhD, Director of the Newborn Metabolic Screening and Lysosomal Storage Disease Programs at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia joins us to discuss this rare disease.
