About this episode
Germs are everywhere and many are easily spread. That’s why it’s important to mind your manners, especially when you are under the weather. According to a recent survey, many working Americans show up for work even when they’re sick, proving that we have some work to do when it comes to sick etiquette, which helps keep ourselves and others healthier. Etiquette expert Diane Gottsman joins us to share a little sick etiquette advice.

During the holiday season, many of us will indulge in rich foods with our families and friends. But for the estimated one in five Americans who experience chronic heartburn, this can also mean a nagging cough, loss of voice and even difficulty sleeping. If this sounds like you, you’ll want to hear from our guest before reaching for that over-the-counter medicine to go back for seconds on your holiday dinner. Joining us today is leading gastroenterologist, Dr. Anthony Starpoli, with tips to help ease your heartburn this holiday season and how to know when that heartburn could be a sign of something more serious.

Compassion, honesty and generosity – How soon should parents start helping their kids develop these traits? In a recent survey, parents overwhelming agreed that good character traits were important. Yet, nearly half said preschool is too young for children to start learning critical social-emotional skills, like getting along with others and compassion. Why? Dr. Laura Jana is a board-certified pediatrician and proud mother of three. She’s also an award-winning parenting and children’s books author. She joins us to debunk some misconceptions about what our kids can learn and when.

Tamara Walker, RN, aka MomRN, and her expert guests share practical advice, information and support for raising a happy, healthy family.
