Natalie Holloway and Max Kislevitz: Bala

Liv Perez
About this episode
Bala is a Los Angeles based movement company founded in 2018 by husband-and-wife team Natalie Holloway and Maximilian Kislevitz. During a sabbatical in Southeast Asia, Natalie and Max realized that old school wrist and ankle weights were in desperate need of innovation and decided to design a stylish weighted band that amplifies the fitness benefits of just about any routine. After a successful Kickstarter funding run and two years under their belt, Bala did $2.1 million in their first calendar year with their collection of colorful, silicon bands, available in two different weight options and a design so sleek you could wear them with a gown. In February 2020, they appeared on ABC's Shark Tank and received a $900,000 investment from Mark Cuban and tennis legend Maria Sharapova, and are now up 466% in sales since this time last year. In this episode, Natalie and Max answer all your burning questions about the Shark Tank experience, provide tips on how to perfectly pitch yourself, and fill us on in what their plans are for their new investment with two of the most brilliant investors in their back pocket.
