Hair Removal Methods

SKINCARE
About this episode

Hair removal is likely the most annoying factor of summertime. There are so many unique kinds of hair removal, the majority of which are time-consuming, can be costly, and painful. And we choose to do it anyway. But if you are someone who's especially bothered by how many times you must shave, or how painful it is to wax, perhaps it's time to take into account the other hair-removal alternatives.
Perhaps you'd like something a little sweeter. Perhaps you'd like something a bit more permanent.

Irrespective of whether you would like to change your hair-removal design for your legs, bikini line, or underarms; depilatory creams, sugaring, laser removal, and electrolysis are options to think about in addition to the more common waxing and shaving.

Of course there are choices like tweezing and threading, but these generally work best for your face because of the time required and longevity they supply. So in the event you've ever been interested in different kinds of hair removal which can be easily used wherever you would like to rid yourself of some fuzz, here is everything you will need to know about shaving, depilatory cream, waxing, sugaring, laser removal, and waxing; and how they stack up against one another on the variables of pain, cost, and longevity.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a long-term alternative that involves destroying the roots with light. This option could be permanent, but usually only reduces the quantity of hair making it nicer and lighter. It works best on people with darker hair and lighter skin, however, since the laser finds pigment.

This means it won't eliminate blonde or white hair as efficiently. Laser hair removal generally takes around six to 12 sessions for optimal results. And thanks to technology, there's now the option to do laser hair-removal at the comfort of your own home.

How long does it last? If the best number of first sessions are finished, you may want to have touchups every six to 12 months.

Shaving

The majority of us are probably familiar with this choice, but shaving works by cutting the hair off at skin-level. Because hair is just removed at skin-level, it usually grows back in a few days.

They are generally smeared on in thick layers across the desired area, and left for a couple of minutes before having to be removed. However, they're not always the best in regards to coarser hair. And as a result of the compounds, they may have a somewhat offensive odor.

Waxing

Since the hair is removed, at best, marginally under skin-level, it will usually begin to grow back in a few days. This technique works by applying wax to the skin, which adheres to hairs. The wax is then immediately ripped off (sometimes with a fabric strip, sometimes without), pulling the hairs out with it.

The process is relatively fast, so even bigger areas such as the legs can be waxed in a trivial amount of time. But because the wax has to have the ability to abide by the hair, hair has to be at least a quarter of an inch before waxing.

After waxing, it normally takes about three to six weeks for hair to grow back.

Sugaring

Sugaring is like waxing. As its name suggests, it involves a sugar-containing glue or gel to remove hair. It works by applying the glue or gel and, based on the sort, either removing it against hair growth to pull out the hair by the root. And as the medium is organic, you may even make it at home.
