About this episode

We’re now halfway through this season’s league phase and we were treated to a record-breaking Wednesday on Matchday 4.

Como scored nine in the biggest-ever away victory in the UEFA Champions League as they dominated Lens 9-1 in France. Elsewhere, Fenerbahçe twice came from behind to defeat Liverpool in Istanbul, with Real Madrid doing the same in Athens to maintain their perfect start. We hear from Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham as well as Fenerbahçe interim manager Dirk Kuyt and striker Vedat Muriqi.

In our featured commentary match, Dortmund squeezed past Real Betis 2-1 in a tightly-fought affair in Germany while there were also important victories for Arsenal, Manchester City and Club Brugge. Additionally, Porto and Viking picked up their first wins of the campaign. We get reaction from Dortmund’s teenage sensation Konstantinos Karetsas, Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres and Man City’s match-winner Erling Haaland.

Natalie Sawyer, Andy Brassell and Joe Shennan look back on all of Wednesday’s action, which included 44 goals and a piece of Champions League history.
