About this episode

Matchday 3 picked up where Matchday 2 left off, with goals galore!

In our featured match, Paris and Barcelona played out an end-to-end classic in the French capital with the defending champions running out eventual 4-2 winners. Désiré Doué and Lamine Yamal were inevitably amongst the goalscorers.

Liverpool, Napoli and Roma all scored four to see off Villarreal, Bodø/Glimt and Slovan Bratislava respectively, while Manchester City hit five at home to AEK Athens, midfielder Phil Foden with a hat-trick. Elsewhere Stuttgart drew with 10-man Atleti 1-1 in Germany whilst PSV secured a superb 1-0 win in Porto. And in our early matches Sabah went down 2-1 at home to Borussia Dortmund while Slavia Praha hit a last-minute equaliser against Fenerbahçe to draw 2-2 in Türkiye and register their first-ever away point in the competition.

We hear from Manchester City hat-trick hero Foden, Liverpool’s UEFA Player of the Match Rio Ngumoha, Atleti goalkeeper Jan Oblak, Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay plus Barça boss Hansi Flick and Dortmund manager Niko Kovac. We also take a look ahead to Wednesday’s matches, hearing from Bayern’s Serge Gnabry and Real Madrid’s Ibrahima Konate.
