From weekly team wish lists that generate at least 150 improvements a year to daily huddles that keep everyone connected, she shares practical ways to build a culture where people feel heard and genuinely invested in the business. We also unpack the realities of managing change, introducing new technology and creating consistent workflows without losing the personal relationships that make property management so valuable. Because when your people understand the purpose behind a change and have a voice in shaping it, the results can extend well beyond operational efficiency.
What really stood out to me was the connection between better operations, happier teams and stronger client relationships. Jess shares how rethinking something as fundamental as the lease renewal process helped strengthen investor trust, improve communication and create opportunities for sustainable growth. We also discuss where smaller agencies can begin when they don't have a dedicated operations manager or the resources to overhaul everything at once. My biggest takeaway is that operational excellence isn't about doing more or having the most sophisticated systems. It's about being intentional with how your business operates, empowering your people and creating an experience that makes clients want to stay.
