362: I Thought Being a Good Wife Meant W...

Laura Doyle
About this episode

Kyra had been hurt before and she wasn't going to let it happen again. She and her partner had two kids but weren't married, and they were both on the fence about their relationship. She worked harder and harder, trying to hold everything together. They hurt each other, disappeared into Cold Wars that lasted days, and made up, only to repeat the cycle all over. Until one Thanksgiving night, she finally hit her limit.

She got down on her knees that night and asked for a sign. That same week, her answer arrived.

Today, Kyra is happily married. They eloped at his work Christmas party: spontaneous, unexpected, and perfect. He calls her his reward in life for everything he has been through. The Cold Wars are gone, and the marriage she once dreamed up on her vision board is finally her reality.

If you've been giving everything to a relationship that keeps circling back to the same painful place, Kyra's story might inspire you to change it all by doing less.
