What if you're not burned out? What if you're heartbroken?
In this deeply personal solo episode, I share the story of climbing onto a mechanical bull at 50 years old (against all better judgment), and the unexpected lesson it taught me about grief, joy, aging, and what it means to be truly bone-tired.
As I work on my upcoming book, The Best in Us, I explore a powerful question: Are we really burned out—or are we carrying heartbreak that we've never made space to acknowledge?
From losing my dad, navigating menopause, and feeling disconnected from joy, to recognizing how grief shows up as exhaustion, cynicism, numbness, and disconnection, this little monologue is a reminder that maybe there's nothing wrong with us.
Maybe we're just carrying too much. Maybe what we need isn't another productivity hack, morning routine, or life optimization strategy. Maybe what we need is connection. A little more grace. A little more time to feel. And a little more permission to be human.
If you've been feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected, or like you're just trying to keep your head above water, this episode is for you. Take a breath. Give yourself some space. And remember: you don't have to earn rest.
