Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!
I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks…
Anonymous: I was wondering what the minimum amount of gluten and minimum amount of days is to eat before taking a celiac test. I heard only 2 weeks instead of 6 will work. I get bad brain fog so can't take the test if it's 6 weeks. Thank you!
S: Hi Dr. Cabral. I recently learned about Safe Catch Tuna. I know normally it is important to limit tuna consumption due to mercury accumulating in the fish. I'm just wondering if this brand truly makes it any safer to consume tuna a bit more often? They have different varieties of tuna such as albacore and skipjack if the type of tuna matters (If it does could you clarify why?).
Holly: Hi Dr. C, the past 6 months ive begun struggling with massive fatigue that hits about 3pm. I complete the seasonal detox, ive done CBO and eat well (including rarely any sugar)… ive changed nothing (apart from starting the gym, lifting weights). I'm 42 and have tried tracking my symptoms to my cycle- and I mostly get fatigued in the first week-2 after my period and a day or 2 before. I'm 42, have an autoimmune condition (alopecia areata that I had rebalanced /regrown but developed another patch a few months ago). Is this perimenopause? What can I do to rebalance my hormones naturally? Note I'm not currently in a financial postion to do any functional testing. Thank you
Susan: Hi Dr Cabral, I'm new to the community and appreciate all that you do. I'm a whole food plant-based eater and eat mostly organic food when possible. Recently I experienced bouts of diarrhea for about 2 weeks before showing improvement over the next two weeks. I didn't want to take over the counter medicine, so I let it run its course. I had no other symptoms. What could I have done to treat this? Thanks for your help.
Erin: I have had 2 c-sections and 2 years ago had a hernia repair and abdominal repair at the same time. For about a year now i have had an area below the diaphragm that is so tight and bloats most of the time. I went to a myofascial specialist and she said that area is full of scar tissue from the repair (it was the start of the abdominal repair in that area) and it was holding so much water. She said the way my c-sections were done it blocked my lymphatic drainage. So i will be doing some weekly work with her but what else can I do to breakdown all that tissue. I am so miserable so often from it. Thank you for your help.
