Conspiracy theories are everywhere. Some are obviously absurd, some are genuinely difficult to dismiss, and some real conspiracies have actually happened. So why are we so attracted to stories about secret groups, hidden agendas and people controlling things behind the scenes? Maybe the interesting question isn’t only whether a conspiracy is true — but why the story feels so convincing in the first place.
