Euronext Sustainability Week runs Sept. 14-18, and in this special episode kicking off the week, we're talking to Euronext Group Head of ESG and Sustainable Finance Camille Leca.
Euronext operates stock exchanges that list more than 1,800 companies across eight European markets, where Camille points to clear market demand for sustainable finance products. Despite a backlash against ESG in some parts of the world, she says, "the commitment and the appetite from investors is still there."
At the same time, Camille says the language the market uses is evolving. She describes the idea of a "new ESG" that encompasses "energy, security and geostrategies" to reflect how sustainability is embedded in the current business landscape.
The title of Euronext Sustainability Week — 'Building resilience in a changing world' — speaks to this evolution. "There was a need for rebranding, and the recent geopolitical events made 'resilience' a very clear word for showing what the challenges and opportunities are," Camille tells us.
