About this episode

Title: Shadows of a Forgotten Love

Level: Intermediate (B1-B2)

Story:

Elise Laurent never thought she would return to Vienna, let alone cross paths with Daniel von Hagen, the man she had once loved beyond reason. Seven years ago, she walked away, believing that love could be too much, too overwhelming to hold onto. But now, standing in the same grand ballroom where their story once thrived, she realizes that some emotions never truly fade. As their eyes meet across the crowded room, the weight of the past presses down on them, filled with unspoken words, regrets, and the possibility of a second chance. But can love survive years of silence? Can two hearts, once separated by fear, find their way back to each other? As the night unfolds, Elise must decide—walk away again or finally fight for the love that never truly left.

Vocabulary:

  1. Unraveled – to come undone, to reveal something hidden.
  2. Restraint – self-control, holding back emotions or actions.
  3. Recognition – the act of realizing or remembering something familiar.

  5. Collide – to come together forcefully, often unexpectedly.
