"Church Hurt" & The Misrepresentation of...

With Paige Hanna
About this episode

Welcome to another episode of Heavenly Ever After. “Jesus had church hurt too.” Today’s episode is a touchy subject for a lot of people and is one of the leading causes of people leaving or walking away from Christianity. We are talking all about “church hurt” and how the world misrepresents Jesus. We know that human beings are flawed and filled with sin. Often times we see people associate the actions of humans as the whole being of “church” and it can lead them to walk away entirely. “Christianity didn’t work for me” is a common response but this response is a direct correlation with the lack of personal relationship with God. I talk about how you can actually build a relationship with God and how to steer away from religion. I am sorry for your “church hurt”. I pray this word encourages you and helps change your mind about Jesus and who He actually is and not how He was falsely represented. (P.S. It was almost 4 years ago that that incident happened at the church late at night, the math wasn’t mathing in the moment)

The Inside Out Kingdom
Christianity is utterly different from religion. At the end of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus says there are two paths—one that leads to life and one that leads to destruction. And here’s what the scary thing is: both ways have people praying, giving to the poor, obeying God’s la ... Show More

Forgiving and Forgiven
If you look at the particulars Christian teachings, the particulars don’t look that different from many other ethical systems. The difference is that Christianity is never interested in moral behavior simply as moral behavior. In every instance, putting on the new self means to r ... Show More

A Prayer for Unity in the Church This Christmas
It’s easy to take offense when someone hurts you, or you’re frustrated with where you are in life, and it seems as though everyone around you is thriving. But, when we take an honest look at ourselves and see how God loves us (1 Corinthians 13), we realize we have no right to hol ... Show More

Be Angry, Sin Not
Christianity has an amazing approach to lying and to anger that almost nobody else has. For truth-telling, it says truth must always be told with love. And for anger, it says, “Be ye angry, and sin not.” Paul doesn’t say, “Well if you get angry, it might be okay.” He says, “Be an ... Show More
