Beacon : a light or signal that guides or warns.
Legacy : something handed down from the past.
Adrift : floating without direction or purpose.
Ethereal : light, delicate, or otherworldly.
Mechanism : a system of parts working together in a machine.

Reported Speech:
Used to express what someone has said indirectly.
