En 2023, l’OMS et l’Unicef constataient une stagnation de la couverture vaccinale infantile dans le monde, entraînant une recrudescence de certaines maladies, comme la rougeole. Pourtant, les jeunes enfants sont davantage exposés aux risques de complications de ces maladies, la majeure partie des décès liés à la rougeole recensés en 2022, concernaient ainsi des enfants de moins de 5 ans.
