#301 - WOMEN WHO MAKE AN IMPACT SERIES: ...

Tarryn MacCarthy
About this episode

In today's episode in the WOMEN WHO MAKE AN IMPACT SERIES, Dr. Tarryn McCarthy sits down with the remarkable Dr. Laura Brenner, a former dentist turned influencer in personal growth and professional fulfillment. The discussion centers around pursuing lifelong dreams, whether it be in dentistry or a different industry. Sometimes, achieving those dreams doesn’t align with our desires and values. Dr. Brenner's openness about the struggle between conforming to norms and following her inner voice resonates with many people. It highlights a crucial moment where redefining personal success can lead to a happier, more balanced life. The conversation also explores self-trust, creativity, and the regrettable realization that many live by external expectations rather than their truth. Ultimately, it stresses the importance of self-awareness and the courage to follow a unique path.

After dreaming of becoming a dentist her whole life, Dr. Laura Brenner learned dentistry wasn’t a match for her. She practiced for ten years before leaving clinical dentistry to become a blogger, a speaker, and a certified professional coach. After her blog post, “10 Reasons Your Dentist Probably Hates You Too,” went viral, she began connecting with dental professionals worldwide who wanted more from their careers. This reaction inspired her to create Lolabees Career Coaching to guide dental professionals in designing their careers on their terms so they can create joyful, balanced lives.
