En 1829, el escritor norteamericano hizo un viaje por Andalucía que lo llevó hasta Granada. Maravillado por la Alhambra, escribiría luego una obra que la haría famosa en todo el mundo. 

Hacia 1630, los españoles descubrieron en Perú las virtudes de la corteza del árbol de la quina para curar una enfermedad infecciosa que hacía estragos en la época: la malaria. 

Advertido de que dos de sus nueras eran culpables de adulterio, el rey Felipe IV de Francia decidió encerrarlas de por vida y ejecutar de un modo horrible a sus dos amantes.
