There may be nothing
More multifaceted and
More complex in life
than love.
PAUSE
Take a moment,
And allow your heart to open,
To blossom.
And as it opens,
Feel the love grow
Within you.
PAUSE
Take a minute,
And imagine a large diamond,
With many facets,
A large diamond
Of love.
PAUSE
And, as you turn the diamond,
And look at one of the facets,
You see your friends,
Laughing,
Listening,
And loving you.
True friendship is love.
PAUSE
And, you move the diamond again,
Til you see another facet–
A facet with your pet.
Your pet cuddled next to you,
Licking your face,
Playing with you,
Loving you.
Pets bring unconditional love.
PAUSE
Now, you shift the diamond again,
This time seeing something you do,
Something that is a passion for you.
You’re engaged in it,
Happy with it,
Feeling productive with it.
There are things we do we truly love.
PAUSE
And your move the diamond once more,
And see your parent or possibly a grandparent,
Caring for you,
Making food for you,
Reading a story to you,
Listening to you.
Families can have love.
PAUSE
Now, sit for a moment,
And let yourself feel
All the love you have…
Love for your friends,
Your pets,
Your favorite activities,
Your family.
And, of course, love for yourself.
PAUSE
And hold onto that love,
Letting grow inside you
Every hour of every day
Going forward.
