[Season 2/Episode 1]: Ittihad Cub & The ...

أسيل طفيلي
About this episode

The Super Subs is back for a second season with Assile Toufaily!

The show was created in November 2022 to fill a gap in the Arab world: the absence of women’s sports dedicated shows.

For this first episode of the new season, I was joined by two special guests: Myles Smith (assistant coach) and Haya Al-Jamal (team manager) from Al-Ittihad Club in Saudi Arabia.

Women’s football in Saudi Arabia has been booming these couple of years. The work of the federation but also the clubs is paying, as investors are showing interest, stars of the game are joining the Premier League and broadcasters such as DAZN are covering the development.

Over at Al-Ittihad club, the development this past summer has been remarkable with the arrival of Kelly Lindsey, Myles Smith, Ashleigh Plumptre, Salma Amani, Nor Moustafa and others.

In this special “English-version” episode, I talk with my guests about their backgrounds, Myles arrival in Saudi Arabia, Al-Ittihad’s vision & mission, the Western stereotypes, the rise of the game in the country and other topics.

You can listen to the podcast on all platforms: Anghami, Podeo, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.

Or on my personal page on YouTube.
