I'm Mabel, I’m a native Chinese teacher traveling the world, I’ve been teaching Chinese as an Au pair and online tutor for 5 years and I’m also a language lover and learner. After teaching more than 30 students online and I decided to create this channel to share with more people about Chinese vocabulary, Chinese grammar, Chinese culture, Chinese stories with pinyin, and English translation for listening and speaking practice. With my channel, you can easily start to learn and understand common and complicated Chinese words, sentences, and more. If you are a Chinese beginner, I’m planning to upload videos about Chinese pronunciations, Daily life Chinese conversations in A mini Chinese course format, which can help you learn easily and more effectively. Don’t miss it! Let's subscribe to my channel and start your Chinese learning journey with me!🌸 📖📒 The Story of 马马虎虎mǎmahǔhu - careless/ so-so In the Song Dynasty, there was a painter who liked to paint anything he felt like painting. Most people could not understand his paintings. One day, when he had just finished a painting of a tiger's head, his friend came to ask him for a painting of a horse. So, he painted a horse's body behind the tiger's head. His friend asked him if the painting was of a tiger or a horse. He answered, "马马虎虎 (mǎma hūhu) horse and tiger". His friend rejected his painting, so he put it up in his living room. His eldest son asked him "What was in the painting?" He answered, "A tiger." However, when his younger son asked him he answered, "a horse." Shortly after this, his eldest son while hunting shot someone’s horse because he thought it was a tiger. The painter had to pay the owner of the horse a lot of money. His second son went out and saw a tiger and he wanted to ride it because he thought it was a horse. But, when the boy tried to ride the tiger it killed him. The painter was very sad, so he burned the painting. These days the idiom is used to describe someone who is careless or situations and things that are not special or just common. 🏫📱 Learn Chinese with other great Apps/websites: I only recommend the Apps/websites that I truly think can help Chinese learners. - Pleco (My favorite Chinese & English dictionary app) - Skritter (Best app for learning how to write Chinese) - Readibu (Free version is good for Intermediate and Advanced levels) - Doulingo (Good for learning basic phrases ) 😄😄❤️ Check daily vocabulary and sentences on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chinesewith...
