Bestselling Author - KeriAnne N. Jelinek for Sloth Dreams Books and Publishing
About this episode

Children are little bodies with big emotions! This book is for and about children who sometimes find it challenging to deal with these big emotions, especially children who are on the autism spectrum, are hypersensitive, or have ADHD.

Read the sweet little story about Roald and the Mindful Cheese Plant. This picture book opens up opportunities to talk about emotions and feelings and provides seven simple activities to do together to find the way back to calm.Beautifully illustrated in watercolors, this book is filled with magic.

Based on mindfulness and self-regulation theory, this book is perfect for all children between the ages of 3 to 7, parents, teachers, carers, and anyone who works with children.

Do these seven simple and fun activities together:

Recognize that it is OK to feel angry. Help children understand the transformation of grief to anger, and back to calm and love. Teach children how to diffuse their cauldron of fiery emotions with a simple breathing exercise and self-affirmation. Teach neurotypical children empathy for their friends who are struggling with big emotions. Start a new hobby together (container gardening).
