Emma and Hester
About this episode

It’s Black History Month in the UK and LGBT History Month in the US and so in this episode, we are exploring exclusively Black Queer history! ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿🏳️‍🌈

To help us we invited a fabulous special guest Krystal Lake to explore the forgotten gay heroes of the Civil Rights Movement.

We share the story of Bayard Rustin, Martin Luther King’s friend, and comrade who organized the March on Washington, where the greatest speech in History was delivered to 250,000 people!!

We also explore the life and literature of James Baldwin, one of Hester’s favorite heroes! Who's words and bravery are just as relevant today as they ever were ❤️
