It's All A Show with Derek DelGaudio

Treefort Media & Touchy Feely Films
About this episode

🪄🪄🪄

Paul and Stephen are fascinated by magic and the art of deception and they’re thrilled to take this extraordinary ride into the wondrous mind of master illusionist Derek DelGaudio.

Listen in as they explore themes of reality, deception, imagination, morality, manipulation, and belief with the sleight of hand maestro. Is authenticity even possible anymore? Is Tik Tok just a series of mini-Shakespearian tragedies? And what’s the fix for the absence of human connection in an online world

Bonus: Learn about Plato’s allegory of the cave and why children are more difficult to deceive than adults.

Paul Giamatti is an award-winning actor and producer. Stephen Asma is a professor and author specializing in the philosophy of science, religion, and art.

Derek DelGaudio is a writer, performer and sleight-of-hand artist. He created the award-winning theater show and film, In & Of Itself and wrote the acclaimed book, AMORALMAN. DelGaudio also served as the artist-in-residence for Walt Disney Imagineering, and co-founded the performance art collective A.Bandit. He is currently an Affiliate Scholar at Georgetown University and co-conspirator at Deceptive Practices, a creative firm that provides “Arcane Knowledge on a Need-to-Know Basis.”
