“Mom, look at what I found outside in the bushes.” Juliet, my older sister, approached Mom holding a dog in her hands.. “Can we keep it pleaseeeeee.” It was a small brown and white dog with a distinctive snowflake covering one eye.
Mom sighed, “I’ll discuss it with Dad when he gets home. But for now, please take the dog in the backyard.”
“I will name the dog, Max.” Juliet looked at me smugly as she headed to the back yard.
Hi, my name is Max.
Juliet and I never got along. It seemed to me that she always had it out for me. The way Mom tells it is that Juliet always wanted a little sister but when she got me she wasn’t very happy. When I was five, Mom told us we could go and play in the backyard. Juliet tied me to a tree and snuck up to her room. Rain fell and I was sick for two weeks!
