MADHAPPY
About this episode

Welcome to Episode 112 of The Madhappy Podcast. This week, we are excited to welcome Sophie Hawley-Weld on the show to hear more about her mental health journey prior to creating SOFI TUKKER and how she works to maintain her well-being in the music industry.

To kick the episode off, Mason and Sophie talk about her childhood and how moving to multiple places around the world as a kid has since influenced her current music style (05:57).

Sophie shares why, at first, she was resistant to pursuing a career in music (08:47), before elaborating on her relationship with her bandmate Tucker (18:23). Mason asks Sophie about the concept of “making it” as an artist (33:53), as the two move into a conversation about Sophie’s experience with ADHD.

Mason and Sophie talk about the importance of maintaining a mental health care routine, especially on tour and throughout festival season (37:46), before wrapping up with a conversation about journaling, mind health, and gratitude (40:52).
