Ep 304: Drug Addiction + Healing with La...

ALLIE CASAZZA
About this episode

We are going to talk about drug addiction today. Even if you don't struggle with addiction yourself, I want you to listen to this conversation. It is vulnerable, eye-opening, and encouraging on so many levels.

Laura Cathcart Robbins is the host of the popular podcast, The Only One In The Room, and author of her memoir, STASH. When she needed help most, she couldn't find herself in the stories and books on shelves. So, she wrote her memoir to speak out, become part of the solution, and give other women who are struggling with addiction, a place to find hope and encouragement.

Laura's beautiful book is about her journey parting from her authentic self, struggling with addiction, and coming back to her authentic self. It is raw, vulnerable, and deeply encouraging on so many levels. Go grab this book! I know you will enjoy it (especially after you hear from her in this conversation).

In this episode Allie + Laura discuss:

❤️ Motherhood + needing help to cope, and how that was connected to her addiction

❤️ How pride and being self-sufficient holds back so many from getting helped

❤️ What led her to writing her story + why speaking out for black women was so important to her

❤️ True diversity that goes unnoticed and how we can be better at including everyone, no matter who they are

❤️ Breaking free of shame and how it will take you to a place of true freedom
